THE STATEMENT, EVIDENCE AND IMPACT WORKBOOK

Organise Your Evidence, In Your Own Time

The Statement, Evidence and Impact Workbook is a guided, structured resource to help you understand what you’ve experienced, document it clearly, and organise it in a way that can support police reports, solicitor meetings, CAFCASS involvement, and court proceedings  at your own pace, in your own space.

“The investment that could change how your story is heard, understood and evidenced by the professional’s making decisions about you and your children’s future.”

A Note From Me

This workbook has been a year in the making.

It started because I kept seeing the same gap, over and over — survivors being asked to explain years of coercive control to police, solicitors, and CAFCASS, with almost no guidance on how. You’re expected to somehow turn a pattern that took years to even recognise into something clear, factual, and convincing, often at the exact moment you’re least equipped to do it — and no one tells you how.

So, I built the thing I wished someone had handed me. Everything in here is what I’ve learned, both as a survivor who went through that exact process myself, and as a trauma-informed counsellor who has since sat with client after client trying to do the same thing the structure, the language, the pacing, the parts that actually matter to the people reading your statement. The things you’re never told by the people asking you for the information. This isn’t a replacement for legal advice. It’s the groundwork so that when you do sit across from a solicitor, a police officer, or a social worker, you’re not starting from nothing.

You already lived through it. You shouldn’t have to work out how to prove it alone too.

What’s Inside The Statement, Evidence and Impact Workbook

A structured, trauma-informed framework for turning years of experience into something clear enough for a court, a solicitor, or CAFCASS to understand.

Understanding What Happened to You

A full breakdown of the types of abuse — physical, sexual, emotional, financial, and coercive and controlling behaviour — written in plain language, so you can recognise your own experience in it rather than searching for the “right” words yourself. Includes a dedicated section on the grooming phase, helping you see how the pattern began, not just how it ended.

Your Evidence Code Log

A structured system for logging incidents as they happen (or as you recall them)  date, factual description, impact, and supporting evidence — so years of lived experience becomes something you can organise, search, and reference, instead of one overwhelming story you have to retell from scratch every time someone asks.

Building Your Timeline

Step-by-step guidance for turning individual incidents into a clear, chronological account the structure courts, police, and solicitors are trained to look for, built from your own evidence log.

Recording Impact

Dedicated space to document the impact of what you experienced emotionally, financially, practically, and on any children involved because impact is part of the picture professionals need, not just the incidents themselves.

A Note on Pace and Effort

Explicit permission and guidance to go at your own speed. This isn’t designed to be completed in one sitting some sections are built to be worked through a page at a time, whenever you’re ready.

Legal Reference Cards

Plain-English context on how coercive control is recognised and understood by police, courts, and family proceedings so you understand not just what happened to you, but why it matters legally.

Reflection Prompts Throughout

Space to process what you’re writing as you go, not just record it because this is designed to support your recovery while you build your evidence, not just produce a document.

Used to help prepare real safeguarding and court paperwork

Clients have used this workbook to help them prepare for CAFCASS safeguarding interviews and C1A applications organising their evidence clearly enough that professionals could properly understand the pattern of what they’d experienced.

Who This is For

Anyone who wants to start organising their evidence and experience independently — whether as a first step before seeking legal advice, alongside an ongoing case, or as a companion to 1:1 Statement & Evidence Support (see previous page) for anyone who wants closer, guided help instead.

Reviews from users of the Statement, Evidence, and Impact Workbook

“Professionals finally sat up and took notice.”

I had a one-to-one session with Emma and was also given early access to her workbook. Using what I learned from both, I was able to take around four years of evidence relating to domestic abuse and safeguarding concerns and turn it into a clear, structured record.

Instead of trying to explain years of experiences as one overwhelming narrative, I was able to document individual incidents, identify patterns of behaviour, record the impact on myself and my children, and clearly link everything to the supporting evidence.

I ultimately collated and analysed over 130 allegations of abuse and concerning behaviour.

This proved incredibly useful when speaking with safeguarding professionals and has also helped me prepare evidence for family court proceedings.

What has been most significant is the change in how my safeguarding concerns are now being understood. I finally feel that professionals are listening and recognising what is fundamentally a safeguarding issue.

Within just a couple of weeks, Emma’s session and workbook made an enormous practical difference both in helping me communicate what had happened and in helping me feel that my concerns were finally being taken seriously.

For the first time, I felt able to take years of overwhelming information and present it clearly, factually and in a way that professionals could understand.

I can’t overstate the impact this has already had for me and my family.

Thank you so much, Emma.

“There is no other information out there like this.”

I was blown away by Emma’s workbook. It covers so much, yet it is written in such a clear and digestible way.

What really stood out to me was how carefully everything was broken down. When you’re dealing with trauma, processing large amounts of information can feel overwhelming, but the way this workbook is structured made it possible for my traumatised brain to actually take things in and work through them.

It helped me begin organising my evidence and gave me a clearer understanding of how to present what had happened to me.

I genuinely haven’t found anything else like it. You should be so proud of what you have created.

Thank you for giving me something practical that helped me find some clarity when everything felt overwhelming.
